An AMBER Alert issued on Tuesday at 6:00 pm has resulted in the safe recovery of two young girls after they were abducted by their father, Chase Lee, 33, from the 8400 block of Cambridge Road.
According to the arrest affidavit, Lee allegedly threatened the girls’ mother with a firearm after instructing his daughters to wait in his truck. The affidavit revealed that Lee attempted to shoot the girls' mother twice, but fortunately, the firearm failed to discharge on both occasions.
After the terrifying incident, Lee fled the scene with his daughters. Law enforcement agencies launched an extensive search, leading to their discovery nearly four hours later at a hotel in Tyler.
Lee has been taken into custody and is currently held at the Smith County Jail on a $400,000 bond. He faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The quick response by authorities and the issuance of the AMBER Alert played a crucial role in the safe recovery of the abducted girls.
