In a targeted operation, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office executed a controlled substance search warrant on October 10, 2023, at 9669 Hwy. 64 in Henderson, Texas. The search led to the discovery and seizure of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a prohibited short-barrel firearm.
Joel Gibbs Jr., 47, of Henderson, was arrested at the scene in connection with the seized items. Gibbs faces multiple charges, including Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (P.O.C.S.) Penalty Group 1, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. Following his arrest, Gibbs was taken into custody and is currently confined in the Rusk County Jail. His bonds have been set at a total of $80,000.
This successful operation was the outcome of an investigation initiated by Patrol Shift "C" of the Rusk County Sheriff's Office.
