Paris Police officers responded to a disturbance call in the 2100 block of Cedar on Monday night at 8:36 pm. Upon arrival, officers encountered Melissa Anderson, who was on the scene and attempting to gain entry to a residence. Anderson, visibly intoxicated, was also found to be in possession of open containers of alcoholic beverages in her vehicle.
Despite officers' presence, Anderson refused to leave the property and attempted to flee the scene. Due to her intoxicated state and the fact that she did not reside on the property, officers arrested her for Public Intoxication. During the arrest, Anderson resisted being taken into custody, struggling and jerking away in an attempt to prevent handcuffing.
Officers successfully secured Anderson and transported her to the police station, where she was booked and subsequently placed in jail.
