In the evening hours of October 8, 2023, Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a call for service at CR 2339. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 27-year-old Macey Taylor Layton at her neighbor’s residence. Layton, who had allegedly consumed alcoholic beverages, was found to be in a highly intoxicated state.
According to the arrest report, Layton exhibited signs of intoxication, including a strong odor of alcohol emanating from her person and glassy, bloodshot eyes. Concerned for her safety and the safety of others, deputies determined that Layton was a danger to herself and the community.
In response to her level of intoxication, Layton was taken into custody and transported to the Hopkins County Jail. During her time at the jail, Layton vomited a substantial amount of clear fluid, which also had the distinct odor of alcohol. Following the incident, she was released to jail staff without further complications.
Macey Taylor Layton now faces a charge of public intoxication, as outlined in the arrest report.
