Farmersville Fire Department Adds New Full Time Firefighter and EMT

J. Pilkinton and C. Williams

The Farmersville Fire Department is excited to announce additions to our full-time paid staffing. As of the approval of the 2023-2024 fiscal budget, the Farmersville City Council approved the hiring of two additional full-time firefighter/EMT’s. Effective October 1, 2023, we will now have a full-time staff of one Fire Chief and three full time firefighter/EMT’s. In anticipation of this approval, we have conducted the necessary Physical Agility testing of thirteen and Panel Interviews of eight current, qualified, department volunteers to be considered for an “internal promotion” hiring.

We are excited to announce the hiring of Firefighter Chandler Williams and Firefighter Jeremy Pilkinton to our full-time Fire Department Staff. They will be joining our current full-time firefighter, Tyler Roman. We have conducted an official swearing in of our new firefighters on September 28, 2023 at Farmersville City Hall.

Firefighter/EMT C. Williams joined the Farmersville Fire Department in November of 2021. He is a certified firefighter and EMT-B. He has eight years of experience as a firefighter. He has taken on numerous leadership initiatives and answered many critical calls in our community over the past two years at our department.

Firefighter J. Pilkinton joined the Farmersville Fire Department in December of 2022. He is a certified firefighter and EMT-B. He has eleven years of experience as a firefighter. He has also taken on leadership roles, initiating training exercises for our members, and has continued to grow within our department.

Both of these firefighters will be excellent additions to our department and community. We will continue to take pride and operate as a majority volunteer fire department. However, as our community has grown, our call volume continues to increase and the anticipated growth in the coming years, we are working proactively in ensuring the well-being of our community and those who visit our community daily.
