In Sachse, Texas, a fatal accident on Thursday afternoon has prompted an investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). The incident occurred at approximately 1:37 pm when emergency responders, including Sachse Fire/EMS, Police, and DPS Troopers, rushed to the scene of a rollover accident on the President George Bush Turnpike near Miles Road.
According to investigators, the driver was heading westbound on the turnpike when the vehicle suddenly veered off the roadway, striking the center barrier and causing one of its wheels to detach. Despite the loss of a wheel, the vehicle continued for six miles before the driver ultimately lost control, leading to the overturn.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle during the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
