Paris Police Detective Arrests Suspect in Identity Fraud Case

A Paris Police Detective Sergeant successfully apprehended a suspect involved in a case of identity fraud that had previously been reported. The suspect, identified as Vladimir Chavelas Alvarez, was taken into custody on Wednesday evening at approximately 5:53 PM.

The incident in question revolved around the fraudulent purchase of a vehicle from a local dealership, during which the suspect had used the identification of an unsuspecting victim. Acting on the ongoing investigation, the Detective Sergeant managed to locate Mr. Alvarez in the 2600 block of N. Main.

Upon confronting the suspect, Vladimir Chavelas Alvarez confessed to the crime and presented a false driver's license as part of his attempt to obtain the vehicle under false pretenses. It was determined that he had utilized false statements to secure the vehicle and had used incorrect identification information.

As a result of the investigation, Vladimir Chavelas Alvarez was charged with two felonies: False Statement to Obtain Credit and Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information. Law enforcement officials promptly arrested Mr. Alvarez and subsequently took possession of the vehicle as evidence in the case.
