A one-vehicle accident on Highway 154, located approximately 13 miles west of Gilmer in Wood County, has left one woman dead and two men injured. One of the injured men has been arrested in connection with the incident, according to state troopers.
The accident occurred when 24-year-old Leopoldo Guerrero of Gilmer was traveling westbound on Highway 154. Guerrero's vehicle reportedly veered off the road and overturned during the incident.
34-year-old Diana M. Valenzuela of Longview, who was a passenger in the vehicle, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The two men in the vehicle, 25-year-old Diovanni S. Cisneros and Guerrero, sustained injuries and were subsequently transported to a medical facility for treatment.
Leopoldo Guerrero has been charged with Intoxication Manslaughter and Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle in connection with the accident. He was taken into custody but has since posted a $150,000 bond and been released from jail. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
