Combined Investigation Leads to Three Arrests and Seizure of Drugs and Firearms in Henderson

A joint operation between the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office and the Henderson Police Department has resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the confiscation of suspected illegal drugs and firearms.

On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, as part of a fugitive apprehension inquiry, authorities uncovered leads that led them to execute a controlled substance search warrant at 1307 MLK Street in Henderson, Rusk County, Texas.

Taken into custody during the operation were Frank Torres Lewis, 50, of Henderson, Cheryl Redwine Lewis, 50, of Henderson, and Derrick Lewis, 44, also of Henderson.

Frank Torres Lewis is facing multiple charges, including Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 (methamphetamine), classified as a second-degree felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 2 (MDMA), categorized as a State Jail Felony, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, designated as a third-degree felony. Additionally, Frank Torres Lewis had an outstanding warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Cheryl Redwine Lewis was served with warrants for Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon.

Derrick Lewis was apprehended based on an outstanding warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1.

All three individuals are currently detained in the Rusk County Jail following bond determinations by Justice of the Peace Pct #5, Jana Enloe.

The controlled substance search warrant was issued by Rusk County, County Court at Law Judge, Chad Dean.

The investigation remains ongoing, with law enforcement anticipating additional arrests as it proceeds. The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of the community they proudly serve.
