Quitman Man Charges with Intoxication Manslaughter in Fatal Crash on US 69

A collision on US 69 at Wood County Rd 2260 over the weekend has left one man dead and another behind bars. According to Texas State Troopers, Moises Joribio, 41, of Mineola, lost his life in the incident, while Maxwell H. Lee, 25, of Quitman, is now facing serious charges.

The incident occurred when Joribio was yielding to oncoming traffic, preparing to make a left turn. At that moment, a vehicle driven by Maxwell H. Lee collided with his car.

Tragically, Moises Joribio did not survive the crash, and officials pronounced him dead at the scene. In the aftermath of the collision, Maxwell H. Lee was arrested by authorities on charges of intoxication and manslaughter.

It is worth noting that Maxwell H. Lee had previously been arrested by Quitman Police on September 14 for an unrelated incident involving criminal mischief, causing damage valued between $2,500 and $30,000. He was released from custody on September 15.
