TxDOT Seeks Public Input for Future of US 82 Highway

US 82 Texas Corridor Map

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is seeking public input on the future of US 82, a vital highway that spans over 570 miles from Arkansas to New Mexico, as part of their US 82 Texas Corridor Study.

Running from September 11 to October 18, TxDOT has launched an online survey to gather perspectives from the public on the US 82 highway. This extensive corridor study aims to address the challenges posed by Texas' growing population, increasing traffic, and thriving economy.

The study will assess ongoing transportation projects and evaluate safety, connectivity, traffic bottlenecks, and other mobility issues along US 82 in Texas. The valuable feedback obtained through the survey will aid TxDOT in identifying potential improvements and establishing priorities for plans, policies, programs, and projects.

Key elements under consideration for proposed projects along the US 82 corridor include safety, mobility and congestion, system connectivity, and multimodal passenger and freight transportation.

TxDOT encourages residents and stakeholders to participate in the survey to help shape the future of US 82 and the communities it serves. Your input is essential in addressing the transportation needs of tomorrow.
