In the late hours of Thursday night, September 14, 2023, Paris Police Officers responded to a disturbance call originating from the 600 block of SW 7th Street at 11:37 pm. The officers apprehended Lakayla Kendricks on the scene after she made an attempt to assault a family member.
Kendricks had recently been released from Lamar County Jail, where she had been incarcerated for a prior incident of a similar nature. A protective order had been issued against Kendricks, prohibiting any unlawful contact with the concerned family member. Nevertheless, Kendricks violated the order by trespassing onto the property.
Officers conducted a thorough search and located Kendricks hiding in a closet within the residence. Consequently, she was taken into custody for Violation of a Protective Order and subsequently returned to jail.
