On September 14, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., law enforcement officers from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding a shooting incident in the 2000 block of Gardenia, Forney, TX. Deputies arrived at the scene and interviewed multiple individuals who had witnessed the incident. As a result of their investigation, 19-year-old Jaylon Hunt was taken into custody.
Hunt has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, as well as offenses related to Deadly Conduct and the Theft of a Firearm. The victim, a 17-year-old, was transported to a local hospital for medical attention and has since been discharged.
