On September 13, 2023, the Sherman Police Department began an investigation into an Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child case. As a result of that investigation, detectives from Sherman’s Criminal Investigation Division obtained an arrest warrant for 28-year-old, Jose Luis Maldonado-Hernandez.
After issuance of the warrant, Maldonado-Hernandez was located and placed under arrest without incident. He is currently being held at the Grayson County Jail for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child with an $800,000 bond and Immigration Detainer. The investigation is ongoing.
This is but another example of the outstanding and efficient police work we strive for at Sherman PD. Cases such as this require a rapid and competent response from multiple entities to ensure the safety of the victim and other potential victims.
