Paris Police officers responded to a call for assistance on September 11, 2023, at 3:54 PM. The incident took place in the 200 block of SW 1st Street, where a verbal confrontation escalated into an assault and threats.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers made contact with the involved parties, identified as James Octavious Jeffery and the victim. The victim reported that during their verbal altercation with Jeffery, he physically assaulted them by striking them in the face with his fist. Additionally, it was reported that Jeffery had thrown a rock, narrowly missing the victim but hitting a passing car.
Furthermore, the victim alleged that Jeffery had made multiple threats to kill them during the altercation. The Paris Police Department collected physical evidence at the scene that substantiated the victim's claims.
As a result of the investigation, James Octavious Jeffery was taken into custody by the Paris Police. He is now facing charges related to the incident, including Assault of a Family Member and making terrorist threats.
