Car Crash in Fannin County Claims Life of 8-Year-Old Girl

On September 7, 2023, at approximately 10:00 P.M., emergency services, including EMS, the Trenton Fire Department, and the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office, rushed to the scene of a major car crash near FM-151, just two miles northwest of Trenton, TX in Fannin County. The incident involved a heavily damaged vehicle carrying five individuals, including three children.

The Department of Public Safety conducted an investigation into the accident and subsequently issued a statement regarding the tragic incident. According to their findings, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 36-year-old Kyle Wilson from Trenton, was traveling northbound on FM 151 when the accident occurred. Their report indicated that Wilson failed to negotiate a curve at an excessive speed, causing the 2017 Cadillac XTS he was driving to veer off the road. The vehicle collided with both a metal pipe fence and a tree.

As a result of the crash, Wilson and a 10-year-old male occupant of the vehicle were transported to Dallas area hospitals in critical condition. An adult passenger and a 6-year-old female were also transported to Dallas area hospitals but were reported to be in stable condition.

Tragically, an 8-year-old girl who was among the occupants of the vehicle was taken to Cooks Children’s Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
