Child Injury Investigation Leads to Arrest of Two Suspects in Forney

On the morning of Friday, September 8th, the Forney Police Department responded to a local elementary school within the Forney Independent School District (ISD) in reference to an injury to a child investigation. The responding officers quickly established that the injuries sustained by the child were severe and had occurred recently.

Due to the severity of the injuries, the child was immediately taken to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. With the cooperation and assistance of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, the Forney Police Department took swift action to ensure the safety of the child and others residing in the household.

The diligent investigative efforts of the Forney Police Department ultimately led to the successful arrest of two suspects connected to the case. James Richard II was taken into custody at 1:45 p.m., followed by Syasandrea Conroy at 3:29 p.m., both of Forney. Both suspects were booked into the City of Forney Jail on one count of Injury to a Child, under Penal Code 22.04, which is a first-degree felony.

The Forney Police Department expressed their gratitude to various entities for their support in securing the safety of the children involved and for the successful apprehension of the two suspects. This included members of the Forney ISD staff, Forney ISD Police Department, Forney Fire Department, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, as well as the dedicated hospital staff.

While this investigation remains ongoing, authorities have indicated that additional charges may be forthcoming. The Forney Police Department emphasizes the importance of child safety and encourages the community to come forward and report any suspicions of abuse or neglect. The safety and security of children are of utmost importance to the community.
