Earlier today, Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies rushed to an apartment complex located at 540 Richcrest, near Greens Rd and Imperial Valley, in response to a distressing incident. Preliminary information reveals that an adult male sustained a stab wound to his leg during the incident.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, initial investigations indicate that the adult male was allegedly involved in physically assaulting the mother of a 10-year-old female child. In a remarkable act of bravery, the young girl reportedly intervened to protect her mother and is believed to have inflicted the stab wound on the adult male.
The wounded adult male was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where he is reported to be in fair condition.
Following the incident, law enforcement investigators have concluded their work at the scene. However, the investigation is ongoing to gather a complete understanding of the events that transpired.
"Awful situation for a 10-yr-old little girl to have to witness and experience. Children who witness the abuse of their mothers, fathers, or other family members, are impacted.", said Sheriff Gonzalez in a statement.
