On August 19, 2023, the Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) arrested 47-year-old Robert Ryan of Mount Pleasant for Online Solicitation of a Minor.
After further investigation, Officers discovered that Ryan was in possession of more than 500 photographs and videos depicting child pornography.
Ryan was arrested again on Friday, August 25, for Possession of Child Pornography and booked into the Titus County Jail.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department had previously started an investigation involving Ryan after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) sent the MPPD a referral for online child pornography. Ryan was using social media for his online communication and to obtain illegal material.
