On the evening of Saturday, August 26th, 2023, a situation unfolded at a local hotel that caught the attention of the Rockwall Police Department. At around 7:15pm, a concerned citizen made a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a hotel on Lakefront Trail in Rockwall, TX.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers spoke to the person who had called in the report. This individual explained that they had witnessed a person acting strangely at the hotel. The person, identified as 32-year-old Mitchel Musso, seemed to be intoxicated and had entered the hotel. Inside, he grabbed a bag of chips and started eating them. But when asked to pay for the chips, things took a turn.
Mitchel Musso allegedly became verbally aggressive and left the hotel without paying for the chips. Police officers managed to locate and approach him outside the hotel. They noted that he appeared to be showing signs of being intoxicated.
Following an investigation, officers arrested Mr. Musso. He was charged with Public Intoxication and Theft of less than $100, both of which are considered Class C Misdemeanors. Additionally, a check of records revealed that Mr. Musso had multiple outstanding traffic warrants issued by the Rockwall Police Department.
As a result, Mr. Musso was taken to the Rockwall County Detention Center, where he was booked for the charges mentioned. He spent the night in jail and was able to secure his release late in the afternoon of Sunday, August 27th, after posting a bond of $1000.00.
