SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas - A Sulphur Springs man is facing five felony drug charges and remains jailed on a $500,000 bond following a methamphetamine distribution investigation conducted by the Sulphur Springs Police Department.
Detectives said their investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine led to three felony arrest warrants for 47-year-old Erick Jerome Sims.
The warrants charge Sims with three counts of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, involving four grams or more but less than 200 grams of methamphetamine.
On Saturday, Aug. 1, detectives executed a search warrant at Sims' residence as part of the investigation.
During the search, investigators reported finding methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana inside the home.
Based on the evidence recovered during the search, detectives filed two additional felony charges against Sims for Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, involving four grams or more but less than 200 grams in a drug-free zone.
Authorities did not specify what type of protected location resulted in the drug-free zone enhancement.
Sims is currently being held on a total bond of $500,000.
The investigation remains ongoing.
