TYLER, Texas - A Tyler man has been sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison after authorities recovered large quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine and cash during two separate traffic stops in Smith County.
U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs announced that 61-year-old Patrick Dewayne Foreman pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
On July 21, U.S. District Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle sentenced Foreman to 188 months in federal prison.
According to court records, Foreman was stopped twice in Smith County for separate traffic violations. During both traffic stops, law enforcement officers discovered illegal narcotics and evidence of drug trafficking.
In total, investigators seized more than 323 grams of methamphetamine, 3.32 grams of cocaine, marijuana, $9,524 in cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia, including digital scales and unused syringes.
The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations, the Smith County Sheriff's Office and the Tyler Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lucas Machicek prosecuted the case.
Because Foreman has pleaded guilty, been convicted and sentenced, the case has been adjudicated.
