HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas - Henderson County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a wanted fugitive and two additional suspects in separate narcotics investigations Wednesday, July 29th, recovering suspected methamphetamine, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
According to the sheriff's office, Narcotics Investigator Jude Bonner arrested 28-year-old Jamie Lee Garrett of Eustace, TX, after Garrett allegedly removed his electronic ankle monitor earlier in the day in an apparent attempt to evade law enforcement.
Following an investigation, Bonner located Garrett in the 1000 block of West Main Street in Gun Barrel City and took him into custody without incident.
During the arrest, investigators said Garrett was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia consistent with the use of controlled substances.
Garrett was booked into the Henderson County Jail on multiple felony charges, including an outstanding warrant, tampering with an electronic monitoring device and possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $50,000.
Later that day, K-9 Deputy Edwin Rodriguez and Narcotics Investigators Jonathan Barrios and Jude Bonner conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Royall Boulevard in Malakoff after observing a traffic violation.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a quantity of suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia commonly associated with illegal narcotics, according to the sheriff's office.
The driver, 46-year-old Nickcole Lamond Turner, and passenger, 47-year-old April Jo Franks, both of the Malakoff area, were arrested without incident on charges of possession of a controlled substance. Turner's bond was set at $20,000 and Frank's was set at $10,000..
All three suspects were transported to the Henderson County Jail, where they were awaiting arraignment.
The Henderson County Sheriff's Office said it remains committed to aggressively combating the possession and distribution of illegal narcotics throughout the county and encouraged residents to report suspected drug activity to law enforcement.
The investigation remains ongoing.
