Three Arrested After Drug Investigation at Athens Shooting Scene

ATHENS, Texas — Three people were arrested after investigators executing a narcotics search warrant at the scene of a shooting investigation discovered suspected cocaine, marijuana and other drug-related evidence inside a residence, according to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office.

The investigation began at approximately 5:35 p.m. on June 16, 2026, when Henderson County Narcotics Investigators Jonathan Barrios and Jude Bonner were assisting the Athens Police Department with a shooting investigation in the 400 block of Jonathan Street.

Authorities said a residence in the area had been struck multiple times by gunfire.

While assisting at the scene, narcotics investigators obtained a search warrant signed by Judge Scott McKee of the 392nd Judicial District Court.

During the search, investigators discovered a backpack containing two large plastic bags of suspected cocaine, a large bag of suspected marijuana and various items commonly associated with narcotics distribution, including digital scales and smaller plastic baggies.

Investigators also recovered a bottle containing suspected Xanax pills.

Three individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Henderson County Jail.

24-year-old Jerquindon Trmon Taylor was charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana. Authorities noted Taylor was already out on bond following a February 2026 arrest on charges of Continuous Violence Against the Family and Failure to Appear.

28-year-old Da Korian Larmont Dowell was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. According to investigators, Dowell was previously arrested by Gun Barrel City police in November 2025 on drug-related charges.

23-year-old Tylee Tesha Henderson was arrested on outstanding active warrants.

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office said investigators and Athens Police detectives worked together throughout the investigation to gather evidence and pursue leads related to both the shooting and narcotics offenses.

All three suspects remain in custody awaiting arraignment.
