Woman Accused of Giving False Name, Hiding Meth During Arrest in Henderson County

Peyton Oxford

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — A woman facing a felony warrant was arrested on multiple additional charges after deputies say she provided a false identity and attempted to conceal suspected methamphetamine during her arrest and transport to jail.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Addkison and Deputy Rich responded June 9, 2026, to Eskota Street regarding a reported criminal trespass. Deputies were advised that individuals were on the property removing a fence that allegedly did not belong there.

Upon arrival, a woman identified herself as Hunter Spradlin. During the investigation, dispatch advised deputies that the date of birth she provided did not match records and that the individual had three active warrants from Gun Barrel City.

Deputies took the woman into custody and placed her in the back of a patrol vehicle. While being detained, she informed deputies that she had marijuana in her pocket. Deputies recovered a bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and another bag containing a crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

Authorities said the woman then claimed she did not have any warrants and admitted she had provided a false name. She identified herself as Peyton Oxford.

Dispatch later confirmed that Oxford had an active felony warrant for a probation violation related to a burglary of a habitation conviction. She was formally arrested and transported to the Henderson County Jail.

During the transport, deputies observed Oxford making movements in the rear seat of the patrol vehicle. Upon arriving at the jail, deputies discovered another plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance beneath the seat where Oxford had been sitting.

A further search of the patrol vehicle revealed additional suspected methamphetamine on the seat, floorboard and behind the seat. Deputies reported that some of the substance appeared crushed, leading investigators to believe an attempt had been made to destroy or conceal the evidence.

Oxford was booked into the Henderson County Jail on the outstanding felony warrant and additional charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, failure to identify and tampering with physical evidence.

She remains in custody awaiting arraignment.
