Marshall Woman Escapes Kidnapping; Armed Suspect Remains at Large

WANTED: Jamichael Brown

MARSHALL, Texas - A Marshall woman escaped an alleged kidnapping Saturday morning, prompting a multi-agency manhunt for her ex-boyfriend, who remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

According to the Marshall Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 7:29 a.m. on June 6, 2026, to the 1300 block of East Pinecrest Drive after receiving a request for a welfare check.

When officers arrived, they located a female victim who reported that she had been kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, identified as Jamichael Brown.

Investigators said the victim was able to escape from Brown before law enforcement arrived at the scene. Brown fled the area prior to officers' arrival.

Detectives with the Marshall Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division immediately launched an investigation.

Through investigative efforts, authorities located Brown's vehicle in Greenwood, Louisiana. A coordinated search involving multiple law enforcement agencies was conducted, but Brown was not found.

Agencies participating in the search included the Marshall Police Department, Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force, Waskom Police Department, Greenwood Police Department, and the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.

According to police, Brown is currently wanted on three felony warrants. Two of the warrants, Violation of Bond Conditions and Assault of a Pregnant Person, stem from a previous incident involving the same victim.

As a result of the latest investigation, detectives obtained an additional warrant charging Brown with Aggravated Kidnapping.

Authorities warned that Brown should be considered armed and dangerous and urged the public not to approach him.

Anyone who sees Brown or has information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately or contact their local law enforcement agency.

The Marshall Police Department also thanked the Greenwood Police Department, Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, Waskom Police Department, Harrison County Sheriff's Office, Hallsville Police Department, and the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force for their assistance.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
