Rusk County Fugitive Arrested With Methamphetamine and Firearm After Being Found in Wooded Area

RUSK COUNTY, Texas - A Kilgore man wanted on multiple felony warrants was arrested in a wooded area of Rusk County after authorities received a tip that he was trespassing on private property.

According to the Rusk County Sheriff's Office, deputies and Texas Game Wardens arrested 37-year-old Dustin Aiken on June 2, 2026, near Rusk County Road 1114.

Authorities said Aiken was wanted on outstanding Rusk County warrants for:

  • Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle
  • Theft of Property
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1

In addition, Aiken was being held on a federal detainer warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Investigators said the arrest stemmed from information provided by Texas Game Wardens indicating that Aiken was trespassing on private property in a wooded area.

At the time of his arrest, authorities allegedly found Aiken in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm.

As a result, he was charged with additional offenses, including:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

Aiken was booked into the Rusk County Jail, where bonds totaling $105,000 were set by Justice of the Peace Precinct 5 Judge Jana Enloe.

The Rusk County Sheriff's Office said Aiken is also considered a person of interest in other theft investigations currently underway in the county.

Investigators noted that additional charges may be filed as those cases progress.

The sheriff's office thanked Texas Game Wardens for their assistance in locating and apprehending the suspect.
