Teen Injured in Shooting at Longview Park Gathering

LONGVIEW, Texas - A teenager was injured in a shooting late Monday night at a gathering in a Longview park, according to police.

Officers with the Longview Police Department reported hearing gunshots at approximately 11:26 p.m. on June 1 in the area of the 400 block of Fair Street.

When officers responded to the area, they located a teenage victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators determined the victim had been attending a gathering at a nearby park when the shooting occurred.

The victim was transported by the Longview Fire Department to a local hospital. Police said the injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and no information regarding potential suspects has been released.

Police also reminded residents that city parks close at 11 p.m. and encouraged the public to follow park operating hours to help promote safety within the community.
