SHERMAN, Texas - The Sherman Police Department arrested a woman Wednesday evening after officers responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on West Taylor Street.
Police said dispatchers began receiving multiple emergency calls around 4:44 p.m. May 27 regarding shots fired in the 1300 block of West Taylor Street.
Responding officers located 35-year-old Tara Ann Gill, who investigators identified as the suspected shooter.
According to detectives, Gill was inside the residence with four other people, including three of her children, when the incident occurred.
Investigators said Gill was experiencing a mental health crisis when she allegedly retrieved a pistol and fired multiple rounds toward the individuals inside the home.
Authorities said no one was struck by the gunfire.
However, one person inside the residence suffered a minor injury while escaping through a broken window, police said.
Gill was taken into custody and charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $1 million.
Officers also sought emergency protective orders on behalf of the victims involved in the incident.
The Sherman Police Department Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.
