KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas - Prometheus Hyperscale is planning a major new data center development in Kaufman County as the Wyoming-based company expands its footprint into Texas.
Company President Trevor Neilson announced the project this week in a LinkedIn post, describing the development as the company’s newest hyperscale site near Dallas.
According to Neilson, the planned campus will span approximately 500 acres west of Dallas between Talty and Post Oak Bend City in Kaufman County.
The proposed liquid-cooled facility could support up to 200 megawatts of utility load and include four large buildings, according to details shared by the company.
Prometheus said the site will use behind-the-meter power generation through Jenbacher J620 natural gas engines and will connect to a nearby battery energy storage system operated by Engie North America.
The company is also partnering with Conduit Power, which develops on-site natural gas and battery storage systems for data centers.
Originally launched around 2020 as Wyoming Hyperscale Whitebox, Prometheus Hyperscale was rebranded in 2024. Initial plans called for a 120MW campus in Wyoming, but the company later expanded its ambitions to 1 gigawatt of capacity across multiple states, including Texas, Arizona, and Colorado.
In September 2025, Prometheus announced a partnership with Engie focused on colocating data centers with renewable energy assets in Texas.
Conduit Power later announced plans to deploy approximately 300MW of behind-the-meter natural gas generation at data center sites in Texas and Wyoming using Jenbacher-powered generation units and battery storage systems.
The company has said its first facility is expected to begin operations in 2026, with additional projects planned in future years.
