FORNEY, Texas — Three off-duty Dallas Police Department officers were involved in a small plane crash shortly after midnight near Forney, authorities confirmed.
According to the Forney Police Department, police and fire personnel responded to reports of a single-engine aircraft crash near Sage Hill Parkway and Helms Trail.
Investigators said the aircraft made an emergency landing in a nearby field.
Three people were aboard the plane at the time of the crash.
Authorities said two occupants were transported to local hospitals for treatment, while the third person was treated and released at the scene.
Dallas police later confirmed all three occupants were off-duty officers.
Officials said one officer has since been released from the hospital, another is listed in stable condition, and a third remains in critical condition.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the Texas Department of Public Safety are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
