BONHAM, Texas — A narcotics investigation in Bonham led to the arrest of a convicted felon and the seizure of multiple firearms and illegal drugs during a search warrant operation Friday, according to the Fannin County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said deputies, along with the Texas Department of Public Safety and Bonham Police Department, executed a search warrant on May 15, 2026, in the 1900 block of Franklin Street in Bonham.
The sheriff’s office Special Response Team and Narcotics Unit secured the property without incident or danger to nearby residents, investigators said.
According to authorities, the investigation targeted Jeffrey Dunlap, who investigators described as having an extensive criminal history tied to narcotics activity in Fannin County.
Deputies said Dunlap, a convicted felon, was found in possession of firearms and a variety of illegal narcotics.
Investigators seized several firearms along with cocaine, methamphetamine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia from the residence.
Dunlap was arrested and charged with:
- Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 1 gram or more but less than 4 grams
- Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 4 grams or more but less than 200 grams
- Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4 grams or more but less than 400 grams
- Two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Authorities said he was booked into the Fannin County Jail pending arraignment.
Investigators also arrested Romance Dunlap at the residence on an unrelated outstanding warrant out of Tarrant County.
The sheriff’s office thanked partner agencies for assisting in the investigation and said efforts to combat narcotics trafficking throughout the county remain ongoing.
