McLENDON-CHISHOLM, Texas — Authorities are investigating after a utility contractor employee was found dead Monday afternoon at a construction site in the Sonoma Verde subdivision.
According to the McLendon-Chisholm Fire Department, crews responded at approximately 3:26 p.m. on May 11, 2026, to the area of Costa Verde Drive and Torrente Drive following reports of an unresponsive person at the site.
First responders arrived and determined the individual was deceased at the scene.
Officials identified the deceased as a 56-year-old Kaufman County man employed by a utility contractor working on a sewer installation project in the area.
Authorities said the incident remains under investigation. The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified, according to officials.
City officials extended condolences to the man’s family, friends, and coworkers in a statement released Monday.
