Timothy Dawon Perry

MARSHALL, Texas — A 30-year-old man was arrested after officers caught two vehicles racing on a city street late Thursday night, according to the Marshall Police Department.

Officers responded just after 10 p.m. April 30 to reports of street racing near West Pinecrest Drive and Bomar Street. When they arrived, they observed two vehicles actively racing on the roadway.

One of the vehicles attempted to flee but was stopped a short time later, police said.

The driver, identified as Timothy Dawon Perry, was taken into custody and charged with racing on a highway and driving while license invalid with previous convictions. Authorities also discovered he had two outstanding warrants.

Perry’s vehicle was impounded following the arrest.

Police reminded the public that street racing is both illegal and dangerous, posing significant risks to drivers and others on the road. Officers said they will continue enforcing traffic laws to keep the community safe.
