Woman Arrested After Texarkana Officer Investigating Possible Burglary Finds Meth Use Inside Closed Store

Stacy Greeson

TEXARKANA, Texas — What began as a suspected burglary investigation ended with a drug arrest early Thursday after a patrol officer noticed suspicious activity at a closed business, according to Texarkana police.

Around 1:30 a.m. on April 16, Officer Andia Addy was patrolling on Summerhill Road when she observed a vehicle pull into the parking lot of a closed convenience store. Police said a man and woman entered the business, but the lights inside never came on. Instead, the officer reportedly saw flashlight beams moving inside the building.

Believing a burglary might be in progress, Addy called for backup and officers entered the business to investigate.

Inside, officers found 42-year-old Stacy Greeson sitting on the floor allegedly smoking what was later confirmed to be methamphetamine.

Investigators later determined the man with Greeson had permission from the property owner to be inside performing remodeling work, and the incident was not a burglary.

However, police said the owner was unaware of illegal drug activity allegedly taking place inside the building.

Greeson was arrested and taken to the Bi-State Jail. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $20,000.
