Drive-Thru Dispute Turns Chaotic: Texarkana Man Arrested After McDonald's Outburst

Michael Whisenant

TEXARKANA, Texas — What started as a routine fast food stop quickly escalated into a disturbance that ended in an arrest Monday afternoon.

According to police, 40-year-old Michael Whisenant pulled into the drive-thru at a McDonald’s on Richmond Road on April 6, received his order, and then remained parked, blocking the line while eating.

Employees asked him to move so other customers could proceed, but authorities say Whisenant became upset and began complaining about his order. He then exited his vehicle and went inside the restaurant, yelling as he entered.

Witnesses reported that Whisenant walked past customers and employees and made his way toward the kitchen area, where he attempted to strike a cook but missed. He then left the restaurant.

Texarkana Police responded to the scene shortly afterward. While one officer spoke with employees, another located Whisenant’s vehicle a few blocks away and conducted a traffic stop.

Whisenant was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Bi-State Jail, where he was charged with disorderly conduct.

No injuries were reported.
