Two Arrested in $400,000 Embezzlement Scheme at Texarkana Dealership

Jay Freeman and Loren Jones

TEXARKANA, Texas — Two employees of a local marine and RV dealership have been arrested following a months-long investigation into an alleged financial scheme that resulted in more than $400,000 in losses, police said.

The Texarkana Police Department said Jay Freeman, 43, and Loren Jones, 34, were arrested Wednesday after a six-month investigation into theft at Gregg Orr Marine RV and Boat dealership in the 3100 block of East 54th Street.

Investigators said Freeman, the dealership’s manager, and Jones, the office manager, allegedly manipulated company finances over a five-year period.

Detectives worked with dealership employees to identify discrepancies, gather evidence, and obtain arrest warrants.

Both suspects were booked into the Bi-State Jail and later released the same day after posting $75,000 bond each.

The investigation remains ongoing.
