Fannin County Narcotics Unit Makes 13 Arrests, Seizes Drugs in Ongoing Crackdown

The Fannin County Sheriff’s Office reports significant progress in combating illegal drug activity following the launch of its dedicated narcotics unit earlier this year.

Since the unit’s formation in early 2026, authorities have arrested 13 individuals on narcotics-related charges. Those arrested include Chase Petty, Christopher Hopper, Chandra Traylor, Terry Brookshire, Christina Jimenez, Danny Garrard, Lorenza Marshall, Kathleen Garrison, Joshua Gaylon, Tony Tunson, Brian Smallwood, Jonathan Smallwood, and Russell Pemberton.

During the investigations, deputies seized or assisted other agencies in seizing a variety of illegal narcotics, including 92.91 grams of methamphetamine, 11.8 pounds of marijuana, 37 controlled substance pills, 85 grams of codeine, and 6.57 grams of crack cocaine.

Officials said the creation of the narcotics unit reflects a continued effort to proactively address drug-related crime and improve the quality of life for residents.

The Sheriff’s Office credited strong partnerships with local and state agencies for the success of the operations, including the Leonard, Trenton, and Bonham Police Departments, as well as the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Authorities expect arrest and seizure numbers to increase as the unit continues expanding its operations.
