MARSHALL, TX - Marshall Police arrested a Jefferson woman Monday afternoon after she allegedly assaulted a police officer inside the emergency department at Christus Medical Center Marshall.
According to the Marshall Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 4:43 p.m. on January 5th after hospital staff reported that a woman was attacking a police officer. Responding officers identified the suspect as 39-year-old Kashundolyn Lenea Carr of Jefferson.
Police say Jefferson Police officers were at the hospital investigating Carr’s alleged involvement in a kidnapping when the incident occurred. During the investigation, Carr reportedly attempted to leave the hospital. When an officer tried to stop her, she allegedly attempted to take the officer’s weapon and began assaulting him.
Marshall Police took Carr into custody and charged her with Assault on a Public Servant.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
