GILMER, TX - Gilmer police have taken two juveniles into custody following a shooting that damaged a home and a short pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.
Officers were first called to a residence on Circle Drive around 11:44 p.m. Monday, January 5, after reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found that several bullets had struck the home. Investigators determined that at least three rounds entered through a bedroom window. No one inside the residence was injured.

Early Wednesday morning, January 7, at approximately 1:54 a.m., Gilmer police located the suspect vehicle during routine patrol. Officers learned the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Longview. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspects fled, leading to a pursuit. The vehicle eventually came to a stop, and both suspects ran from the scene on foot.
Officers apprehended both individuals shortly afterward. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
Both suspects were identified as juveniles and were transported to a juvenile detention facility. Due to their ages, no names or identifying information are being released. The investigation remains ongoing.
