Paris Police Report Multiple Incidents Over New Year's Holiday

PARIS, TX – The Paris Police Department responded to several incidents in the first days of 2026, including assaults, credit card abuse, and drug-related arrests.

On January 2, officers were called to the 500 block of Clarksville for a disturbance. A victim reported that during an argument with a subject, she had been holding onto a vehicle door when the driver – not involved in the argument – drove away, causing her hand to be run over. The victim indicated she did not believe the act was intentional. The case remains under investigation.

Police also reported multiple incidents of credit card abuse. On New Year’s Eve, a victim in the 3100 block of NE Loop 286 lost his wallet, and unauthorized purchases were made shortly after. Another report came from a resident on the 200 block of NW 31st, who discovered unauthorized charges on a cash card in the Houston area. Both incidents are under investigation.

On New Year’s Day, officers stopped 34-year-old Korbin Neal Day in the 1300 block of Lamar Avenue for traffic violations. Police noted he appeared in a diminished state of consciousness, possibly due to drug use. Day was found in possession of prescription medications without a prescription, as well as cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested, booked, and transferred to Lamar County.

Additionally, police responded to 125 Brown Avenue regarding an assault on a woman by her boyfriend in the 1000 block of Bonham Street. During a breakup, the suspect reportedly choked the victim, struck her, and banged her head against a vehicle and the ground. Police plan to obtain warrants, and the victim has requested a protective order.

The department continues to investigate these cases and urges anyone with information to contact the Paris Police Department.
