On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Narcotics Investigator Jonathan Barrios conducted a traffic stop on a black Nissan SUV in the 600 block of Peach Tree Road in the Mabank area. The driver was identified as Karin Elizabeth Beamon, with Amanda Grace Hayes riding in the front passenger seat.
During the investigation, Deputy Jonathan Daille and K-9 Grace were called to assist with an open-air sniff of the vehicle. K-9 Grace alerted positively, prompting a search of the SUV.
Inside the vehicle, investigators located suspected methamphetamine in a plastic baggie, a used glass pipe commonly associated with narcotics use, and additional drug paraphernalia. As the investigation continued, both occupants admitted they had arranged to travel to Dallas to purchase heroin and transport it back into Henderson County.
Authorities said Hayes later confessed to concealing a plastic bag containing a large quantity of heroin on her person in an attempt to prevent it from being discovered during a search.
Both women were taken into custody and transported to the Henderson County Jail. Beamon was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Hayes was charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Tampering or Fabricating Physical Evidence, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Officials emphasized that narcotics enforcement efforts continue around the clock, including holidays, and warned drug traffickers that county roads and highways are actively monitored.
Both suspects remain in custody awaiting arraignment.
