Two Arrested Following Overnight Shooting in Marshall

MARSHALL, Texas - Two individuals were arrested in connection with a shooting early Wednesday morning in the 1900 block of Circle Drive, authorities said. The identity of the shooter remains under investigation.

Marshall Police Department officers and Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 2:00 a.m. on Dec. 31 after receiving reports of gunfire. Responders located a male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds to both legs. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Marshall Police Criminal Investigation Division detectives, Crime Scene personnel, and the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Drugs Task Force launched an investigation. During the course of their work, 18-year-old Cedric Wrighten, Jr. was arrested on charges of Deadly Conduct and Possession of a Controlled Substance. A juvenile was also arrested for Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport.

The investigation remains ongoing.
