WHITEHOUSE, TX - On Sunday, December 7, 2025, the Smith County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of deadly conduct in the 17700 block of County Road 2194, where a suspect was allegedly waving and pointing a firearm at neighbors.
Neighbors confirmed that Luis Arredondo-Villalobos appeared intoxicated, and his brother informed deputies that multiple firearms were inside the residence. Initial attempts to persuade Arredondo-Villalobos to exit peacefully were unsuccessful, prompting the deployment of the Smith County SWAT team.
After several hours of negotiation, the SWAT team used an armored vehicle and deployed an OC canister through a window. Arredondo-Villalobos eventually exited the home and was taken into custody without further incident.
He was booked into the Smith County Jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, with bond set at $50,000. An ICE detainer has also been placed since he is an illegal alien in the country. Authorities praised the coordinated response for ensuring the safety of neighbors and deputies.
