Terrell, TX – On Thursday, November 20, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Terrell volunteer firefighters were dispatched to a fully involved barn fire along FM 3486. Smoke was visible from north Terrell, prompting additional assistance from Ables Springs Fire Department and CareFlite for firefighter safety.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames consuming the barn, with an RV less than 20 feet away at risk. A passerby had alerted the property owner and was using a garden hose to cool the RV, helping prevent it from igniting. Crews quickly stretched attack lines, cooled the RV, and began an offensive firefighting effort.
The fire was extinguished 38 minutes after dispatch. The RV sustained minor scorching and melting on the exposed side but was saved from catching fire. Contrary to social media reports, there were no injuries or fatalities.
All units cleared the scene by 11:29 a.m.
