Texarkana Police Arrest Three Teens After Gunfire Erupts at Apartment Party

Diego Garcia (the other mugshots were not available)

Texarkana police arrested three teenagers early Sunday morning after a shooting at an apartment complex on Stoneledge Drive.

Officers were called around 4:30 a.m. for reports of gunfire. As they arrived, they spotted a vehicle speeding away from the complex and stopped it a few blocks later. Two of the passengers immediately took off running, but officers — with help from a nearby resident who grabbed one of the fleeing teens — detained three of the four people from the car within minutes.

Inside the vehicle, officers found evidence linking the group to the shooting. Investigators say an argument at a party in the complex escalated when several people pulled out guns and opened fire. At least five parked vehicles were struck, but no injuries were reported.

Elijah Dunn, 17, and Diego Garcia, 17, were charged with deadly conduct and booked into the Bi-State Jail. A 15-year-old was charged with deadly conduct and evading arrest and taken to juvenile detention. Police are still working to identify others involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call Texarkana Police at 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
