Texarkana Police Arrest Man with Active Felony Warrant After Barricade Standoff

Texarkana, TX – On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Texarkana Police officers located a truck belonging to 38-year-old Ricardo Lopez parked at his residence on King Street. Lopez had an active felony warrant for Deadly Conduct after allegedly firing multiple shots at his ex-girlfriend earlier in the week.

When officers attempted to make contact with Lopez, he barricaded himself inside the home and refused to come out. Given his prior history and the presence of weapons, the Texarkana Police SWAT team was called to safely take him into custody.

After several hours of negotiation and with no response, officers deployed OC gas to encourage Lopez to surrender. The tactic was successful as he exited the residence unarmed and was taken into custody without further incident.

Lopez is now booked into the Bi-State Jail pending further legal proceedings.
