MARSHALL, TX - Early Saturday morning, November 1, at around 6:22 a.m., Marshall Police Department officers responded to reports of a vehicle blocking the intersection of U.S. Highway 80 and Highway 59.
When officers approached, the driver, identified as 30-year-old Edson Ramirez, drove away from the scene. Marshall Police officers and Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies quickly pursued the vehicle and brought it to a stop after a short chase.
As officers attempted to take Ramirez into custody, he resisted arrest before being detained.
Ramirez now faces multiple charges, including Possession of a Controlled Substance PG2, Resisting Arrest, Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
Police thanked local drivers for their cooperation during the incident and emphasized that the safety of the community and roadways remains their top priority.
