Suspect in Killeen Fatal Shooting Found Dead of Suicide

KILLEEN, Texas—A 23-year-old man was killed in a shooting on Tuesday morning, and the man identified as the suspect was later found dead of an apparent suicide.

The incident began on September 23 at approximately 1:42 a.m., when Killeen Police officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Laura Drive. Officers arrived to find the victim, Jaquarious Fenn, deceased from a gunshot wound inside his residence. He was pronounced dead at 4:40 a.m., and an autopsy was ordered.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was inside the home with the suspect when the shooting occurred, and the suspect fled the scene afterward. Authorities stated the incident was isolated.

On September 24, the KPD Robbery/Homicide Unit was notified by the Texas Department of Public Safety that they had located a vehicle on the side of US Highway 190 in Lampasas County. The suspect, identified as Yannie Kelvin Chishimba, was found deceased inside the vehicle. Further investigation determined that his death was a suicide.
