PARIS, TX — On Tuesday, Paris Police officers responded to a disturbance involving an assault in the 1400 block of W. Kaufman Street.
The complainant told officers that he and his live-in girlfriend had been arguing when she attempted to leave with their child. The girlfriend called her father to pick them up. When the father arrived, the complainant objected to the child being taken from the home.
According to the report, the girlfriend charged at the complainant, prompting her father to intervene and restrain her. The complainant then placed the father in a “full nelson” hold. The father broke free and briefly grabbed the complainant by the neck before leaving the scene with his daughter and the child.
The complainant declined to pursue charges, and officers did not make contact with the other individuals involved.
